Edging towards cleaner, greener and safer Power Ecosystem; Amendments yet to disclose

With a brighter future prevailing towards a greener and sustainable ecosystem of environment, the suitable finding opportunities are still awaiting in this nation. Major Ecological Developments are steadily proceeding with the assistance of government incentives and initiatives which are progressively being carried out by Public Sector companies, to achieve net-zero carbon emission till 2047 as a part of Viksit Bharat and possessing United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

According to PSU Connect Media Renewable Energy Projects running by one of the most Significant Public Sector Unit in India; NTPC Ltd and its renowned Subsidiaries.

With 76442.78 MW of installed capacity, it is the biggest power company in India. Due to its emphasis on running its power plants at higher efficiency levels (roughly 80.2% compared to the national PLF rate of 64.5%), the company contributes to over 25% of total power generation even though it only has about 16% of the country’s capacity. NTPC currently produces 25 billion units of electricity per month.

With around total installed capacity of 72,304 MW (including 13,465 MW through JVs/Subsidiaries) across the country, it consists (26 Coal based stations, seven gas based stations, one hydro station, one small hydro, 11 Solar PV, and one wind based Station) and 25 Joint Venture stations (nine coal based, four gas based, eight hydro-powered, one small hydro, two wind-powered, and one Solar PV).

NTPC Renewable’s Dayapar Wind Energy Project:

In a wide aspect of Wind Renewable Energy Project, the recent development of the company came ahead of commissioning of 150 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-I in Bhuj, Gujarat which is developed under the 450MW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project by NTPC Renewable Energy, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd via NTPC Green Energy. The 90 MW capacity has been declared commercially operational effective on April, 9 2025. The first 50 MW capacity from this project has been declared operational on 4th November, 2023. The Project has been declared commercial under new Indian Electricity Grid Code  and General Network Access Regime.

History of Dayapar Wind Project:

It is an onshore wind Power Project, located in Gujarat and was commissioned in April, 2019. A major number of Power Purchase Agreements were done with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution, NTPC, PTC India and Solar Energy Corporation of India are the power offtakers from the project.

Geographically, the location in Kutch, Gujarat has been favourable for the wind energy production projects which is strategically abandon for the customized and territorial reasons, unfortunately. Several Wind Farms are constructed for the energy production, including Adani Wind Farm for Dayapar (Adani) I and II are operating. The climate has is tropical with very hot and dry summers with arid conditions led to dry and faster winds.

Talking about Rivers and Dams, there are around 97 small rivers in Kutch district with 20 major Dams with small portion of rivers entering into the region namely, Luni, Rupen, Bambhan, Malwan, Kankawati, and the Saraswati river. A mojor portion of thirst is quench by Narmada River. With the existence of two biggest major ports of India, Kandla and Mundra transportation for the logistics and business has came into thrive. The Hydro-Power Region including Wind Power authenticity is a big boon for the Dayapar Wind Power Project with Renewable Energy sources surrounding the geographical Locations in a wide manner.
